According to Italian Football Club Sampdoria, African and Cameroonian Football Legend Samuel Eto’o Fils has finally left Premier League side Everton FC for Italy. It is reported that Eto’o has already signed a contract with Sampdoria which will last until mid 2017.

On Sunday 25 January 2015, the 33-year-old was paraded on the pitch in front of Sampdoria fans, by club president Massimo Ferrero together with another new signing Luis Muriel before the match with Palermo which ended in a 1-1 draw.

On Twitter, Eto’o later posted a picture of himself wearing a Sampdoria training top on Sunday morning, with the message: “Successful medical. Thank you Dr. Parfait Ondo. Ready for a new challenge!!!”

In another photo posted on Twitter by the club’s official account, the Cameroon highest goal scorer appeared in a selfie alongside Club President Ferrero and fellow new signing Muriel.

Sources say Eto’o will earn 1.8 million euros per year. The striker’s move away from Everton has been very welcomed by millions of his supporters. Despite the initial excitement when he first signed for Everton, the club is said to have led Eto’o down. The continuous failings to win Premier League matches, and the seemingly lack of solutions by the coach could never have been appealing for a Football star of the player’s caliber.

While many supporters would have preferred Eto’o to stay in the Premier League, maybe for another club, his departure is understood by most football experts.

According to Italian Sports Newspaper, La Gazzetta, apart from playing, the Cameroonian will begin preparing for a managerial role in Football.
