SWAZILAND’S King Mswati III will soon marry a 14th wife. The revelation was made public by the Ludzidzini palace governor Timothy Mtetwa. He said during a parliamentary vote: “I can confirm that the king has introduced to the nation a new liphovela (royal fiancee).
The 45-year-old King’s new fiancée is 18-year-old beauty pageant contestant Sindiswa Dlamini. The bride to be is a graduate from Mbabane’s St. Francis High School. He is also a finalist in the Miss Cultural Heritage beauty pageant. The winner of that pageant will be announced on September 28, 2013.
The young future queen was also introduced by the King at a Reed Dance celebration over the weekend, wearing red feathers on her head…a sign of royalty, according Agence France Press (AFP) sources. The Reed Dance (Umhlanga) ceremony is an annual Swazi and Zulu tradition held in August or September. Tens of thousands of unmarried and childless Swazi/Zulu girls and women travel from their villages to participate in the eight-day event where dance for the king.
In 2010, King Mswati III’s eldest daughter, HRH Princess Sikhanyiso Dlamini, popularly referred to as Princess Pashu was selected as one of the 15 most beautiful female African celebrities of 2010 by African Celebrities Magazine.
