The news of the drowning death of Ghanaian Afrobeats and Hiplife Artist Castro following a suspected boating accident on Sunday 6th July 2014 has shocked fans across Africa and the world. As at the time of this report the body of the music star whose real names are Theophilus Tagoe has not been found. As a result it will be reported as the “assumed death” of singer Castro.
African Celebrities Magazine sources in Ghana, report that Police in Ghana are still searching for the body of the Afrobeats artist. Their sea scooter has been recovered by police. At the time of the incident, Castro is reported to have been with a female friend.
Friends have taken to social media to pay tribute to Castro, whose real name is Theophilus Tagoe, despite his death not being officially confirmed.
There has been an outpour of tributes via social media notably Twitter and Facebook. Tributes have been tweeted by artists such as Tinchy Stryder, Lethal Bizzle, Sway etc.
It should be noted that Castro is a personal friend of International Footballer Asamoah Gyan, who has expressed his sadness. Asamoah Gyan has featured is a number of Castro’s music videos.
As at this moment, it should be noted that his death has not been officially confirmed pending the discovery of his body.
